High in the hills of Huila, Colombia, La Florida farm tells a story of love, resilience, and exceptional coffee. Owner Cesar Llantén, originally from Cauca, discovered his passion for coffee after meeting his wife Margarita, whose family's deep roots in coffee farming would forever change his path from construction to cultivation.

Today, La Florida stands as a testament to their shared vision, predominantly dedicated to the prized Pink Bourbon variety. This exceptional coffee's presence on the farm stems from a compelling tale of community solidarity. In 2016, when a neighboring farmer discovered coffee trees naturally resistant to coffee leaf rust (Roya), the resulting cup quality caught the attention of a major export lab. Despite attempts to restrict the distribution of these valuable seeds, the spirit of collaboration prevailed, with the farmer choosing to share this gift with fellow producers, including Cesar.

This act of generosity transformed La Florida, where Pink Bourbon now flourishes across 80-90% of the land, alongside select plantings of Geisha, Cenicafe 1, and young Ombligon trees. Cesar's masterful approach to processing, including both washed and natural methods, brings out the variety's full potential, creating cups that embody both innovation and tradition.

From chance encounters to calculated cultivation choices, La Florida exemplifies the intertwining of personal dedication and community values that define exceptional Colombian coffee.
